• Carbon Trade for reduction of emissions and poverty:
  Our parent organisation RDIS** is among few organisations in Rwanda that is currently implementing successfully a carbon project under CDM and Gold Standard certification. We are implementing a carbon project by supplying Improved Cook Stoves in Rwanda through a sponsorship of Brot für die Welt. We are therefore able to impart acquired special skills and knowledge to other stakeholders in the whole of Eastern Africa region, because we do not only have theoretical, but also practical experience in implementing such projects.
• Poverty Eradication Programmes:
  We implement training, actions and interventions for poverty eradication all over Rwanda. Through Church and Community Transformation (CCT) projects, which we have been implementing with the support of TearFund, we have gained a lot of experience in the field. CCT is an approach that is used by some development agents to mobilize church and community members in the fight against abject poverty by using the resources at their disposal. The programme intends to help churches and communities to achieve material, spiritual, social and economic transformation through change of mindset and change in the way of thinking and doing things. For example, we are equipped and able to carry out surveys in the field. And we offer support in the planning and implementation of related actions.

• Application of Renewable Energy:
  In collaboration with a German organisation, One for the Climate, we have been able to implement successfully a pilot phase of a project for dissemination of Solar Home Systems (SHS) in rural off-grid areas of Rwanda. For example, BPS in collaboration with a local or a foreign investor is ready to go for a scale-up phase of this project, whereby the gained experience will be utilised.
• Waste Management project:
  Through the sponsorship of UEM (United Evangelical Mission) and technical support from a respected German waste processing company, Huendgen Entsorgungs GmbH & Co KG, we implemented successfully a pilot phase of waste management project. We are now equipped to work on a final feasibility study before launching an economically feasible scale-up project for waste recycling or waste upcycling, preferably in collaboration with investors or research institutions. For example, BPS is a suitable partner for establishing a company for producing briquettes for use in institutional and/or household cook stoves by using renewable resources such as plants, weeds and waste from sugar producing companies.
• Afforestation project:
  We have extensive experience in forestation projects. This has been the case, because the focus of the work of our parent organisation RDIS is on tackling global warming and Climate Change in general by planting and by protecting trees, which are currently the main source of energy in rural areas. Through long-term sponsorship of RwandaAid and in collaboration with government leadership at local levels (district, sector, cell and village), we have successfully established and managed many tree nurseries in the Southern and Western Provinces of Rwanda. Since this is an on-going objective, BPS is looking for partners and/or sponsors for undertaking innovative projects in this field so as to plant as many trees as possible to fight back Climate Change.
• Research in all above areas:
  BPS is looking for partners, especially research institutions to work together in looking for solutions for the problems affecting poor people, especially in rural areas. For example research works whose goal is to establish economic activities/projects for uplifting the living standard of community members in rural and suburban areas.
